Turner Studio

Independent designer · New York

John C. Turner makes useful things feel human.

A product designer and field researcher working with public-interest teams, small publishers, and the occasional neighbourhood garden.

Work starts with paying attention.

John works across research, service design and editorial systems. His practice is deliberately small: fewer meetings, more walks, better questions.

Over the last decade he has helped teams turn complicated services into calm, useful experiences. Outside client work, he collects old maps, maintains a community seed library and keeps a running notebook of good public signage.

Projects with a practical centre.
